Reuse
The second R in waste management involves reusing, or using things more than once. Think of the shopping bags that your parents take with them when they go to the market or grocery. They bought the bags for that very purpose and have reused them several times. Here are other ways you can observe this practice:
- For your school needs, you can reuse things that your older brother or sister may have already used but which can still serve the same purpose for you. A common example would be the books that your siblings have used and which will serve you in the same way.
- After using plastic cups, paper plates, and plastic utensils, do not throw them away. Instead, wash them well and store them correctly for the same use in the future.
- Do not throw out old clothes, toys, and similar items. Someone else may have good use for them. You may donate them to orphanages or to the victims of calamities.
