Disposing of Biodegradable Materials
Unlike biodegradable materials, nonbiodegradable wastes do not decompose. They stay on Earth for a long time and thus are the major components of garbage dumps. In the past, these materials mainly included such objects as aluminum cans, plastic objects, metal scrap, glassware, rubber tires, and polystyrene. With rapid technological developments in the past decades, these materials now include computer hardware, electronic gadgets, and various related devices.
The disposal of nonbiodegradable materials has become a serious concern for most countries, including the Philippines. In your own way, you can help to manage their disposal by implementing the three Rs of waste management: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
