Straits

A strait is a narrow body of water that connects two large bodies of water. In the Philippines, San Juanico Strait links Samar Sea and Leyte Gulf.

The Guimaras Strait, on the other hand, joins Panay Gulf and the Visayan Sea. Living things found in these bodies of water include different species of fish and sea grass, algae, and seaweeds.

Lagoons

A lagoon is a shallow body of water separated from a bigger water form by islands, reefs, or sandbars. In the Philippines, a lagoon in El Nido, Palawan is one prime example of this water form.
