The Blood

Blood is a fluid that serves as a transport medium of nutrients and oxygen to the different parts of the body.

Blood is composed of the plasma, the liquid part, and the three solid components - the red blood cells (RBCs) or erythrocytes, the white blood cells (WBCs) or leukocytes, and the platelets or thrombocytes. Hormones from endocrine glands are also present in blood. These hormones affect various activities of the body.
