The Blood Vessels

Blood vessels are pathways or closed tubes in which blood flows throughout the body. They are channels through which cells are supplied with oxygen and nutrients.

Arteries are blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart.

Veins are blood vessels that carry blood back to the heart.

Capillaries are very tiny blood vessels that connect the arteries and the veins.
