Consider a fishbowl with strips of paper numbered from 1 to 500. Determine the sample space S.
Solution
There are 500 possible outcomes in drawing a strip of paper in the fishbowl. Since the number of possibilities is quite big, the sample space S can be written using the rule method; that is,
