Vegetative Parts of Plants

Stems

The stem is the part that connects the roots to the other parts of the plant. It has nodes through which the buds, leaves, flowers, and fruits of the plant are attached.

Stems normally grow above the ground. However, there are stems that also grow underground. These stems are called modified stems. Modified stems, like normal stems, bear nodes from which new plants can grow.
