Like adjectives, adverbs also follow proper order of appearance in sentences; however, unlike adjectives whose positions are fixed, adverbs have a more flexible position. The following is the usual position of adverbs:
| Sita | goes | joyfully | to the garden | every day | after her chores | to do some meditation. |
| The warriors | searched | carefully | in the forest | every single minute | day and night | to look for Sita |
| Rama | waited | impatiently | at his hideout | before dusk | to attack Ravana and his army of demons. | |
