Diseases of the Blood Vessels
Aneurysm
Aneurysm is a condition in which a blood vessel swells or enlarges and its walls become thin. The blood vessels may burst, causing internal bleeding or even death.
Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary Artery Disease, the most common heart disorder among adults, is caused by atherosclerosis. In this disease, fat, calcium, and dead cells deposited along the inner walls of the arteries prevent the smooth flow of blood. This condition may lead to a heart attack.
Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are swollen and twisted veins that appear on the surface of the legs due to the weakened valves in the veins. The blood collects at the lower legs and builds up pressure. Varicose veins may be caused by a long period of standing or too much physical exercise.
Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the tissues around the rectal and anal region which may be caused by constipation. Passing out of hard feces is usually painful, and in worst cases, stools are accompanied by traces of blood.
