Features of the Moon
The moon is Earth's natural satellite. It has a diameter of 3,476 km, which is roughly one-fourth the size of Earth. Earth dwarfs the moon in terms of mass, with the mass of the moon only one-eight that of Earth.

Located 384,000 km away from Earth, the moon is the planet's closest neighbor in space. However, despite its closeness, the moon is very different from Earth. For one, the moon has no atmosphere and water.
