Transmission of Light
Shadows are formed when light is not able to pass through an object that is opaque. Opaque materials do not allow light to pass through them. The human body, wood, and rubber are among the examples of opaque materials.
Materials like clear water, clear glass, and air allow light to pass through them. These are examples of transparent materials.
Objects that allow very little light to pass through them are translucent materials. Wax paper, frosted glass, and lampshades are among these objects.
