Kinds of Plants
Herbs
An herb is a plant with soft juicy stems and soft fibrous roots. It also bears flowers. The different parts of this plant are used as food and materials for medicine. Herbs live for a shorter time than shrubs and trees. Examples of these plants are mayana, katakataka, oregano, garlic, and pechay.
Vines
A vine is a plant that has a weak stem and roots that cannot support the whole plant, so it climbs or creeps on the ground or on walls. Some vines also attach themselves to some support, such as sticks, trellises, or other plants.
Vines have shorter life spans than the other kinds of plants. Examples of vines are ampalaya, squash, patola, and upo.
