Mollusks
Mollusks are soft-bodied animals covered by shells. Their body shapes and shells vary depending on their species. Like worms, they have soft, fluid-filled muscular bodies. Their shells prevent their bodies from losing fluids.
Mollusks may be classified as univalves (with single shells such as snails) and bivalves (with hinged shells such as tahong, talaba, halaan, tulya). Some of them live on land, while others live in water. Most mollusks found in water are "edible". Many mollusks serve as host to parasites that cause various diseases to human and other animals.
