Influenza

Influenza or the flu is a highly infectious viral disease. It is characterized by having fever, backache, headache, coughs, and general body weakness. A person with the flu should get enough rest and drink plenty of fluids.

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a highly infectious disorder of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Most often, this disorder is preceded by influenza. A person with pneumonia experiences high fever, chills, chest pain, headaches, and may cough up yellow or green mucus. Affected persons should consult a doctor, take bed rest, and drink plenty of liquids.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is a disorder that affects the upper respiratory tract. It is usually caused by smoking or exposure to cigarette smoke. Bronchitis causes the bronchi to become swollen, reddish, and filled with mucus. A person with bronchitis experiences wheezing and coughs up yellow or green mucus. Affected persons should consult a doctor.
