Toothache

When the teeth are not brushed properly, food particles remain in between them. The microorganisms in the mouth feed on these particles and produce an acidic secretion. This secretion destroys the enamel of the teeth, resulting in tooth decay, which causes toothache.

When the decay reaches the root of your teeth, gums swell and feel painful. See your dentist at once when this happens. Brush your teeth after every meal and have a dental checkup at least twice a year to help prevent tooth decay.
