Application of Electromagnets

There are many devices that use electromagnets. These include doorbells, generators, loudspeakers, and buzzers. In a doorbell, there is a small metal hammer that is connected to an electromagnet. As soon as the electromagnet gets activated, it pulls the hammer toward the metal bell inside the doorbell to produce sound. As the electromagnet successively switches its circuit off and on, it makes the hammer hit the bell. The pushing of the doorbell closes an electric circuit. Then electric current flows through the electromagnet and the doorbell rings.
