Solidification
Solidification or freezing is the process by which the state of matter changes from liquid to solid. Water solidifies when the temperature is lowered to 0ÂșC. This can be observed when you put water into an ice tray and put it inside the freezer. The water in liquid state becomes ice in solid state. Freezing point is the temperature at which liquids solidify. Different liquids have different freezing points. .

Sublimation
Sublimation is the change of the state of matter from solid to gas without passing the liquid state. Perhaps you have seen mothballs, the small and marble-like balls inside cabinets. These mothballs slowly release the chemicals through sublimation. After some time, the mothballs become smaller before completely disappearing. The smell from the mothballs indicates their transformation into a gas state. The longer the mothballs are exposed, the more they turn into gas.
