Malleability
If ductile materials can be stretched into thin wires, some materials can be forged, pressed, beaten, or rolled into thin sheets. The latter materials exhibit the special property called malleability. They include various metals such as copper, silver, aluminum, and lead, with pure gold as the most malleable.
Porosity
What do you notice when you use a sponge on a wet surface? How about when you use a towel to dry yourself after taking a bath? Both the sponge and towel absorb water because they have the special property called porosity, or the ability to absorb much water. Porous materials have pores or tiny holes that enable them to hold moisture up to a certain amount.
