Everything you see around you is matter. The clothes you wear, the things that you use, the air that you breathe, and the plants and animals around you are all examples of matter. The food that you eat and the water that you drink are also matter. The stars, moon, sun, and planets are matter. Even you are made of matter.

All matter is made up of very tiny particles called atoms. A molecule is a group of atoms. Atoms and molecules are so small that they cannot be seen by the naked eye.
