Kinds of Weather
Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a given time and place. A number of factors affect the weather in a particular place. Weather instruments are used to determine these factors.
There are five basic kinds of weather: sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, and stormy. Though you may not notice it, the kinds of weather wherever you are at a particular time affect you and your choice of activities. They even influence the kind of clothes you wear at that time. Find out how you can choose your activities and clothes to suit the weather as you learn about the conditions for each kind.
Sunny
During sunny weather, the sky is clear, the sun shines brightly, and the wind blows gently. These conditions allow you to do almost any activity, especially those done outdoors such as having a picnic, playing games, gardening, swimming, and fishing. You can also travel by land, water, or air. This is also perfect weather for hanging wet laundry and other wet things to dry in the sun.
Ice cream and cold drinks and fruit shakes are refreshing during sunny days. Wearing thin and light-colored clothes can also make you feel cooler. You can use an umbrella to provide you with the needed shade when going out on a sunny day. Caps and hats can also shade your face from the sun’s heat. If you have sunglasses or sun visors, use them to protect your eyes from the sun’s glare, or very bright light.
