Find the length of $\bar{PQ}$ in each parallelogram.

Solution

a.	Opposite sides of a parallelogram are congruent. Since $\bar{PQ}$ and $\bar{RS}$ are opposite sides and $RS = 28$ cm, then $PQ = 28$ cm.

b.	The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other. Since P is the midpoint of $\bar{RQ},$

PQ = \frac{1}{2} RQ = \frac{1}{2} (12 cm) = 6 cm .
