Natural and Violent Motions

Aristotle’s ideas about motion lasted for 2000 years until Galileo Galilei, an Italian astronomer, mathematician, and physicist, in the sixteenth century, discredited these ideas. Galileo was the first to give conclusive statements about motion after considerable observations and experiments.
