Machines are tools people use to make work easier to do. They may be simple or compound. Simple machines are simple tools that make work easier to do. Compound machines, on the other hand, are made up of two or more simple machines working together. There are six kinds of simple machines: pulley, lever, wheel and axle, inclined plane, wedge, and screw.
