Lungs
Millions of alveoli are found in spongy, cone-shaped organs called the lungs.
The right lung is larger and broader than the left lung because the heart is inclined to the left side. However, the right lung is shorter than the left lung because of the position of the liver.
It is in the lungs where the exchange of gases takes place. Oxygen is absorbed by the blood, while carbon dioxide is released from the body as a waste product of respiration.
