The animal kingdom is so diverse. Not all animals undergo sexual reproduction; there is a large group of animals that does not require egg cells and sperm cells to reproduce. The organisms that come from one parent without the union of sex cells undergo asexual reproduction.

Asexual reproduction is a mode of reproduction in which offspring arise from a single parent and inherit the characteristics of that parent only.
