Just like human beings, animals need places in which they can live, feed, reproduce, and raise their young. The place where animals live and where they get their food and other needs is known as their habitat.
There are countless species of animals and their habitats are also numerous. However, these habitats may be classified according to two major types: land and water.
Each type is comprised further of several kinds that share the same climate, geography, kind of soil, and kind of plants that grow in the area. These factors affect the animals that can be found in a particular habitat such that some of them develop body parts or structures that help them to survive in their habitat.
