Moon
During nighttime, the natural object that is most distinct in the sky is the moon. It is a source of light at night. It is also referred to as a satellite of Earth because it revolves around the planet.
Unlike the sun, the moon does not have light of its own. The light that you see “shining” from the moon is actually reflected from the sun.
The moon is round. However, sometimes you see only half of it and at other times it has a crescent shape. This is because, at certain times of the month, the sun’s rays strike only some parts of the moon.
