Multiplication of Polynomials

You can also work with multiplication of polynomials vertically. Refer to example 2 in the previous slide. Arrange the two factors in rows; that is, 4 x 2 7x+2 in the first row and 3x+4 in the second row. Then multiply each term of 4 x 2 7x+2 by each term of 3x+4. Write like terms in the resulting partial products in columns. Then add the partial products to get the final product.
