Multiplication of Polynomials

You can also work with multiplication of polynomials vertically. Refer to example 2 in the previous slide. Arrange the two factors in rows; that is, $4x^2-7x+2$ in the first row and $3x+4$ in the second row. Then multiply each term of $4x^2-7x+2$ by each term of $3x+4.$ Write like terms in the resulting partial products in columns. Then add the partial products to get the final product.
