Radiation

The third mode of heat transfer is radiation, which involves heat from one body moving through space in the form of waves and being absorbed by another body. A very common example of this mode of heat transfer is the household task of ironing clothes. Heat from the flat iron is transmitted through waves to its surroundings, particularly to the item that is being ironed or pressed.
