Introduction
A microscope is an instrument that is used to view objects that one cannot see using the naked eye. For example, even the sections of a strand of human hair can be seen very clearly through the lens of a microscope as seen in the figures below. The science of studying objects using a microscope is called microscopy.

There are several types of microscopes. One of these is the compound light microscope, also called compound microscope, which is commonly used in most science classes because of its high magnification.
