Making Conclusions and Recommendations

In writing your conclusion/s, always start with a short introduction before listing the statements of conclusions in numbered form.

Example:

Based on the analysis of data made, the following conclusions were drawn.

  • 1. Conclusion 1
  • 2. Conclusion 2

State the recommendations in numbered form as well.

Example:

Based on the conclusions made, it is recommended that.

  • 1. Recommendation 1
  • 2. Recommendation 2

These formats are suggested because conclusions depend on the findings or outcomes of the investigation while the recommendations depend on the conclusions.

You may also present your conclusions and recommendations in paragraph form.

Example:

Based on the analysis of data made, the following conclusions were drawn.

  • Conclusion 1,
  • Conclusion 2, etc.

Based on the analysis of data made, the following conclusions were drawn.

  • Recommendation 1,
  • Recommendation 2, etc.
