Progressive Tenses

The future progressive tense indicates that an action will begin and continue at a future time. The verb in this tense is composed of helping verb (will/shall) + be + main verb + ing.

  • The officers will be inspecting the camp tomorrow.

The negative form has the word not between the helping verb and the main verb + ing.

  • The officers will not be inspecting the camp tomorrow.

Remember that when using verbs in the progressive tense, the helping verbs - am, is, are, was, were, will/shall be - agree with the subject in number and person.
