Comparing Irregular Adjectives

Certain adjectives have irregular forms in the comparative and superlative degrees. They don't follow any of the rules.

Read and study the comparisons in the following sentences:

  • The baby has been in ill condition since last week.

  • Yesterday, the baby was in worse condition than last week.
  • Today, the baby is in the worst condition.

Ill is an irregular adjective.

Its comparative degree is worse.

Its superlative degree is worst.
