Present Tense of Verbs

Read and study the paragraph. Take note of the words written in green and in blue.

The president of the Student Council helps with the preparations. He goes from one room to another to make the announcement. He prepares the program for the day. The council secretary writes a report about the activity. The photographer documents the whole affair.

The words in the first column are nouns and pronouns that act as the subjects in the sentences. They are all in singular form.

The words in the second column tell an action. They are in singular form or in -s form.

When a noun or a pronoun is in singular form, its corresponding verb should end in -s or be in -s form.
